Baseball Safety Netting Installed at 2nd Street City Park

New baseball safety netting was installed behind the baseball diamond at City Park this week. Baseball safety netting is a much needed safety feature at City Park.
Ball stop net systems not only protect the players, coaches and spectators from harm, but it also protects neighboring houses, parking lot, concession stands and other nearby areas from damage.

Tesla battery

Tesla Back-up Power System Installation Nearing Completion

Tesla is getting close to completing installation of the 1,392-kWh backup power system at the City of Cloverdale’s Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The battery system is identified in the picture to the right.  PG&E connected a new transformer to support the new battery system this week.

The batteries will provide a source of back up power and offset energy usage charges at the WWTP. Tesla estimates that their battery energy storage system will generate savings to the Wastewater enterprise as follows:

Estimated Annual Electricity Savings:

  • Annual savings - $33,940

Estimated Long Term Electricity Savings:

  • 10 Year Value - $363,085
  • 20 Year Value - $784,045

The project was funded by the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP).

California Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)

Cloverdale Fire Protection District Developing Community Wildfire Protection Plan - Your Input is Sought

The Cloverdale Fire Protection District is actively developing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan or CWPP. Wildfire Services and Sonoma Technology is leading up the planning process. The purpose of the CWPP is to provide Cloverdale Fire District, land managers, property owners and other stakeholders in Cloverdale with guidance and strategies to reduce fire hazard and the risk of catastrophic wildfires within the Fire District's boundaries.

Your input on the CWPP is critical to developing a plan that reflects community input. Please take a moment to complete the Community Input Survey – this data is essential in formulating the final CWPP. An interactive base map in Geographic Information Services has been prepared.  The link to the interactive base map is: Cloverdale CWPP Online Base Map (arcgis.com)

Earthquake Warnings 3 Ways Graphic

Don’t Get Caught Off Guard - Prepare Now!

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) invites Californians and visitors to join the Earthquake Warning California’s “Don’t Get Caught Off Guard” earthquake early warning awareness campaign.

Earthquakes can and will happen throughout California. Earthquake Warning for California provides free tools — the MyShake App, Android Earthquake Alerts, and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) — to supplement existing resources and give users a few extra moments to take cover and warn others before an earthquake. Understanding how to recognize alerts and what to do when receiving a warning is critical.

We urge individuals and families to create an emergency plan to meet their unique needs, including specific supplies (medications, etc.) and communication plans.
