CloveReady Campaign Kicks Off

CloveReady Campaigned kicked off with an informational booth at Friday Night Live on Friday, August 27th. The booth was hosted by Mayor Cruz, Myra with La Familia Sana, Resilient Cloverdale volunteers Susie Cummings and Darlene Peck.

The primary goal of CloveReady is to enhance emergency preparedness of our residents and businesses by crafting a communication campaign about emergency preparedness to reach all Cloverdale residents. The Chamber of Commerce is actively developing the outreach campaign.

The outreach strategy will include direct mail, door to door engagement, and visibility at community events focusing on three essential components:

  • Awareness - by educating residents on what steps to take to elevate their awareness of changing conditions and calls for action through alerts and other media outlets
  • Preparedness - provide guidance to residents about making smart investments that will ensure that everyone is ready to safely evacuate or shelter in place
  • Activation - if it becomes necessary to evacuate or shelter in place, everyone has the capacity to meet their household’s, or immediate neighbors, needs.

City Embarks on Energy Efficiency Audit

The City has begun the process of completing an Investment Grade Audit as part of PG&E's Turnkey energy efficiency program. Assistant City Manager Kevin Thompson coordinated the audit process with PG&E. The program aims to evaluate the financial savings from multiple energy efficiency improvements at City owned facilities.

Under the Turnkey Program, energy efficiency projects are financed through on-bill financing from energy savings that are generated over time. Once the projects are paid for, the city will own them. Possible projects may include installation of photovoltaics (solar), new energy efficient HVAC systems, LED lighting, water and wastewater improvements. All the City facilities have been inspected.  The City is awaiting a report that will evaluate the financial feasibility of various efficiency projects. This program offers a way for the City to upgrade older less efficient equipment, save energy and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Please keep checking our newsletters for further updates.
