Wet Weather on Tap for Cloverdale - Flash Flood Warning

The National Weather Service announced a Flash Flood Watch for the North Bay, including Sonoma County. An atmospheric river is forecast to arrive on Sunday, Oct. 24.
This weather system is expected to bring four to six inches of rain to parts of the county, with some wetter areas and higher elevations seeing as much as nine inches of rain.

Cloverdale is anticipated to receive 4”-8” of rain. Some localized flooding related to storm drainage may occur in older parts of the City without adequate storm drain Infrastructure. City staff is prepared to respond to clogged storm drains.

A self service sandbag station has been established at Cloverdale City Parks for resents use to address minor flooding. While the rain is welcome news for drought conditions, please remain diligent for potential hazards.  During a drought, trees get stressed out, leaving them vulnerable to falling and limb dropping during heavy rain. Also roads can be particularly slick after the first rains of the year. We don't expect any local flooding, but please exercise caution during the rain events this weekend

City Crews Working Hard on Vegetation Management!

Park crews completed significant vegetation management work on Buck Road this week. The project entailed removing several small dead trees, Blackberry shrubbery, mowed tall grass and pruned large tree branches. This vegetation was effecting visibility of traffic flow and encroaching right of away. All City crews worked together despite being short staffed to get this important job completed.
