The Finance Department is responsible for the city’s financial functions including cashiering, banking, financial reporting, utility billing and collections. Finance prepares and coordinates the annual budget, maintains the City's general ledger, oversees payroll, audit procedures, and the city's cash flow and investments, as well as issuing purchase orders, checks to city creditors, reports by their statutory deadlines, and business licenses. The Department also provides general reception services for City Hall which includes greeting visitors, answering the main telephone lines, and providing the public with a wide variety of general information, including City and County transit schedules and park reservation.
