The Porterfield Creek Open Space Preserve is a 250-acre preserve owned by the City of Cloverdale. The Preserve is located at the western edge of Cloverdale, where residential development meets ranchlands and undeveloped, forested lands. With diverse terrain, perennial water flow in the creeks, and serpentine geology, the Preserve supports a diversity of plants and wildlife.

River Park

 East 1st Street before the Crocker Bridge (At the Cemetery)

The River Park is 58.2 acres of Open Space that has trailheads east of the Cemetery parking lot and the south end of McCray Road. There are 3 miles of walking trail that runs along the west side of the Russian River. There are several information kiosks and footbridges over seasonal creeks. There is a ramp for water access to the river on the McCray trailhead to launch a boat or swim.
