Electric Vehicle & Charger Rebate Program
Learn about eligibility and more information on the Northern Sonoma County Air Pollution Control District's 3-2-1 Go Green! rebate program, designed to support the development and proliferation of clean air, electric vehicle communities.
Upcoming Rebate Incentive Program: The California Energy Commission, in partnership with Sonoma Clean Power and three local air districts, will be launching a rebate incentive program through the California Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project, to double the network of EV charge stations in Sonoma and Mendocino counties. $6.7 million will be invested to increase implementation of DC Fast and Level 2 charging stations! The incentive project launched in 2020. Proposed rebates will offer up to $8,000 per connector for Level 2 chargers, and up to $80,000 per DC Fast Charger or 80% of the project’s total cost, whichever is less. RCPA will lend technical support and resources to the project and will work with member and partner agencies to participate. RCPA will share more information as it becomes available. More information here.
PG&E EV Fleet Program: PG&E is launching a 5-year program to help fund and install medium and heavy duty fleet charging infrastructure. With a budget of $236 million, the program hopes to deploy 6,500 electric vehicles, at 700 sites. Would you like to be one of those sites? Additional notes and information may be found here.
Curbside Charging: The Bay Area EV Coordinating Council hosted a workshop focused on curbside management and curbside electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Do you want to learn more about installing EV charging stations at the curb? Notes and presentations may be found here.
Bay Area EV Acceleration Plan: The Bay Area Air Quality Management District is investigating gaps in current EV and charging outreach programs or policies and how the Air District can assist in filling those gaps. A new effort, the Bay Area EV Acceleration Plan, will build on the Bay Area Plug-in EV Readiness Plan and include an EV market update, market research and survey results, opportunities to accelerate the EV market and next steps. RCPA staff and several local EV stakeholders attended a workshop in Santa Rosa to provide input and feedback on challenges and opportunities. The presentation can be viewed here.
EV Charging Station Permitting Guidebook: The Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development has released a Guidebook for anyone installing charging infrastructure. It covers all the steps including planning, site selection, permitting, accessibility, connecting to the grid, construction, commission and operation. You can view the Guidebook here.
Electric Vehicle Charging Station ADA Accessibility: There are many questions surrounding ADA and EV charging stations. The Department of State Architects clarified that accessible charging station spaces are to be viewed separate from accessible parking spaces. The reason why and additional notes can be found here.
