Welcome to our website. While our site is a brief outline of information about your Police Department, we welcome any comments, suggestions, or thoughts on improvements either to the site or the Department itself.
It is an exciting time to be in Cloverdale. Located in Alexander Valley on Highway 101, Cloverdale is the northern entrance to historic Sonoma County. With its small town charm, it is surrounded by mountains, redwoods, and wineries and is one of the most affordable vacation destinations in the area. Cloverdale also enjoys what most consider being the best weather in the north Bay Area, as well as a low crime rate.
Our Police Department is committed to community policing and being responsive to quality of life issues. We welcome partnerships with community groups and work together to solve problems. We also take any complaints against officers seriously, and we will fairly address all complaints. We utilize volunteers and reserves to supplement the Department in order to provide quality services at the lowest cost. One of our reserves is our school resource officer. This officer is a retired LAPD sergeant, and he also teaches two classes at the high school.
As you explore our site, you will find many of the programs we offer, such as D.A.R.E and the Citizen Police Academy. You will also find information about the makeup of our Department, such as our two K-9s, Marko and Rex, and how they help our Department with their ability to find drugs and protect their human partners.
Whether you are a resident or planning to be, a visitor or planning to visit, or even if you've just found us by chance, thank you for visiting, and we hope you'll check back often for updates and information. Once again, we welcome any thoughts or suggestions. If you have any questions, please call us at 707.894.2150, or email us. We will respond as quickly as we can.
On behalf of the outstanding men and women of the Cloverdale Police Department,
Mark D. Tuma, Chief of Police
